Terms and Conditions for Safekeep
1. Agreement to Terms
By creating an account and using the Safekeep application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Safekeep is a zero-knowledge, end-to-end encrypted service that allows you to store and manage your digital files securely. All encryption and decryption operations are performed exclusively on your device.
3. Your Master Key & Responsibility
Upon first use, you will create a Master Key. This key is the ONLY way to decrypt and access your data.
- YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURELY STORING YOUR MASTER KEY.
- Due to our zero-knowledge architecture, we NEVER have access to your Master Key or your unencrypted data.
- IF YOU LOSE YOUR MASTER KEY, YOUR DATA WILL BE PERMANENTLY INACCESSIBLE. WE CANNOT RECOVER YOUR KEY OR YOUR FILES FOR YOU.
4. User Accounts & Data Storage
Safekeep offers two types of accounts:
- Guest Account: Your encrypted data is stored ONLY on your local device. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, all your stored files will be PERMANENTLY DELETED.
- Google Account: Your encrypted data is backed up to a private folder named "safekeep-data" within your OWN Google Drive account. We do not have access to your Google account or the files within it. You are responsible for the security and availability of your Google account.
5. Premium Services & Subscriptions
The Service may offer a free tier with limitations on usage (e.g., number of files, folders, tags). We offer a "Premium" subscription that unlocks additional features, such as unlimited storage, all themes, and app masking. Payments are processed through the respective app store (Google Play Store, Apple App Store) and are subject to their terms.
6. User Conduct
You agree not to use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. You are responsible for all files you encrypt and store using the Service.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no warranty that the Service will meet your requirements or be available on an uninterrupted, secure, or error-free basis.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the developers of Safekeep be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of data, or other intangible losses, resulting from: (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any loss of your Master Key resulting in permanent data loss; (iii) any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any and all personal information stored therein (if any); (iv) any issues, data loss, or service interruption related to your personal Google Drive account.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any changes by posting the new Terms within the application.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
